Client Blog: Jordan and Will’s skiing holiday in the Italian Alps

Although I had looked after Jordan and his partner Lauren’s holidays for some time, as an avid skier and snowboarder, he was unsure if I organised those types of holidays too. Of course, as a professional travel expert, I cater to all kinds of trips. The rest is history…

Having booked many previous trips with Elaine and always having complete confidence in her recommendations, I turned to her for assistance in finding a skiing holiday for my friend Will and I.

We wanted European recommendations for places we hadn't visited before, ideally at high altitudes and with a large ski area. Elaine's suggestion of Sauze d'Oulx in Northern Italy ticked all our boxes and impressed us.

The half-board holiday included ski passes and ski equipment hire for Will, which was a straightforward process, taking just ten minutes. I brought my equipment, including skis, and Elaine seamlessly changed my booking to include a ski carriage. She also organised all our transfers and pre-flight parking at Birmingham Airport.

Our accommodation was at the fantastic Hotel Splendid, complete with a sauna, pool and excellent food, including an outstanding steak at the nearby Bar Ristorante.

The ski resort was brilliant, offering a variety of pistes and ample snow, and the entire mountain was open. We also took advantage of a complimentary shuttle to the other end of the ski area, which was a great extra.

We spent a fabulous day in the charming French village of Montgenèvre, right on the Italian border. This village dates back to pre-Roman times and served as an ancient passage between Italy and France. Both here and in Sauze d'Oulx, the locals were lovely - very warm and welcoming.

The whole trip was fantastic, and as usual, Elaine’s service excelled, even with a completely different type of holiday. She listens carefully, has a vast knowledge of destinations and contacts, and is superb at finding the best value for her clients.

Elaine makes every holiday as enjoyable as possible. Cheers, Elaine. You’re the best.
